Biography of Artist
Shiyu Zhang “Bruce” is an oil painter, printmaker, ceramist, and painting instructor based in New York City. Zhang obtained his BFA in Fine Art Painting from Academy of Art of University in San Francisco in 2019, and MFA from Pratt Institute in 2023. He is a member of Oil Painter of America since 2017. Zhang had many successful exhibitions in the past few years both in America and Europe. Zhang’s work involves the research of historical photographs and the study of humanity, collective memories, and the study of traumatic history events. The subject matters and photographs he refers in his works aim for revealing the complex sentiments for people to connect with.
